One of the hottest cities right now is hands down Austin. With impressive live music, a bustling night scene, and huge economic growth, Austin has become a desirable place to live, and many people are moving there. I’ve been to Austin twice before, and got the chance to visit again in April for the bachelorette party of one of my best friends Kara (of The Whimsy Soul). And boy was it a fun trip! Kara and I, along with 2 of our dear friends Justina (Just In A City) and Brianna (Design By Brianna), had such a blast. So I wanted to share with you all a quick recap of our adventures.
First off, let me begin by saying how much I appreciated the warm weather and how amazing it felt to not have to carry around a 2nd layer…something I’ve come to learn after living in SF.
We got to Austin and checked into our awesome hotel at Radisson Austin. The location was superb and close to all the great night life Austin has to offer.
And it has a pool to relax at, which we definitely took advantage of and turned into a photoshoot!
We grabbed dinner and delicious drinks at El Alma. Then we headed to the bars and not only got to experience some super fun places, but saw so many bachelor and bachelorette parties…clearly Austin is a popular destination. Considering we got 4 shots for $15, when just 1 drink in SF costs that much, we quickly realized we chose the right city HAHA.
The next day we explored the city and grabbed brunch at Elizabeth Café. We then got ready for the official Kara’s Hoe Down! Dressed in our plaid tops, denim shorts, and cowboy boots, we headed to Banger’s for beer and brutwurst…YUM. The night consisted of rooftop bars and live music, which was so much fun.
The following day consisted of wall art-hunting, exploring cafes, restaurants and boutiques. That night we grabbed a drink at a lovely restaurant called Eberly. And the next morning, we got to enjoy brunch at Hillside Pharmacy.
There are TONS of cool places to check out in Austin and we definitely squeezed every ounce of our time there. If you have not yet been to Austin, book a ticket and GO!!! I’m already looking forward to my next visit ^_^
*A huge thank you to Radisson Austin for hosting us!
